At GRNHS, we’re dedicated to nurturing a vibrant community that celebrates inclusivity, creativity, and sustainability. Together, we aim to grow a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and inspired.
OUR TEAM:
Bernadette A. Bohan is an accomplished San Francisco-based artist, community leader, children's book writer, researcher, and the founding artist at GRNHS. With over 20 years of artistic experience and 15 years of running an inclusive community art space, Bernadette has dedicated her career to creating platforms that celebrate creativity, diversity, and social change.
As a multi-disciplinary artist, Bernadette's work spans assemblage, photography, movement, performance art, installations, poetry, live singing, songwriting, and more. Her art explores themes of gender, societal roles, and community resilience, often intersecting with her passion for anti-violence activism. She has curated powerful art shows that challenge societal norms and foster dialogue, inspiring transformation through the power of art.
Bernadette's vision at GRNHS embodies her commitment to fostering inclusive, creative communities that ar innovate and inspire others, ensuring GRNHS remains a space where art and community thrive together and people can share their authentic selves.
Keith Lawrence is a professional violist, vocalist, producer, composer, arranger, consultant, mentor, educator, queer-black-indigenous business owner, and community member.
He is also a storyteller, lyricist, music contractor, event producer, and collaborator.
He is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and currently calls San Francisco, California home.
Keith has been involved in the commercial and independent music & entertainment industries, on stage, in recording studios, film and television for more than 25 years.
His legacy is to promote cultural preservation, spark passion, creativity, imagination, awareness, exploration, professional and community development through music, education, and collaboration. He believes that artists and our communities tell TRUE histories.
Keith received his undergraduate degree in Viola Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and his master’s degree from The DePaul University School of Music.
As an orchestral musician Keith’s experience includes serving as Principal Violist for Chicago Symphony’s Music. Now Series and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Substitute Violist for the Hollywood Bowl, San Francisco, and Berkeley Symphonies, the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera, as well as a tenured Section Violist for the Tulsa Symphony.
As a chamber musician, his accolades include finalist in the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition with the Aya String Quartet, Grammy Nominations with Quartet San Francisco, as well as current positions as Principal Violist for the Colour Of Music Festival; violist, vocalist, composer, and arranger for the Oakland based quintet, Cosa Nostra Strings, and violist and program curator for the UBG Strings music series, Bach to Beyonce in collaboration with the Sacramento Public Library.
Under the mentorship and guidance of icons such as Quincy Jones, Lesa Terry, and Jack Elliot, Keith has recorded, toured, and collaborated with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Solange, Peter Gabriel, Wynton Marsallis, Dianne Reeves, Dianna Krall, Brian McKnight, Kanye West, Derek Hodges, John Legend, Terrance Blanchard, Miss Lauryn Hill, the Fugees, Bjork, Radiohead, Tony Bennett, Robert Glasper, Common, Jessie Norman, Rascal Flatts, Thievery Corporation, Blackalicious, Nina Simone, and Shirley Horne, to name a few.
His arrangements, recordings, productions and compositions have appeared in movies and series on NetFlix and HBO, as well as TV commercials in the U.S. and abroad.
Inspired by professional mentor and friend, Greg R. Baird, a Global Lecturer on LGBTQ+Civil Rights, Allyship & Community, Keith makes it his mission to help all people, especially artists and musicians, discover and live their legacy, and to leave a positive mark on their present and future communities, working every day to help people find the best in themselves and others.
Though his closest friends, colleagues, and family still question when, or if he sleeps, they all know his undeniable passion for life and music is felt by everyone that he encounters.

David (LALA) Lalone is a Queer, LatinX, Bay Area native who’s passion is bringing people together though the arts. Right from the start he was taken in by queer spaces like Deco Lounge, and The Cinch as a young industry worker trying to find his place. As a guitarist, singer and mixologist, he fell in love with the queer bar/karaoke community. Soon after he was recruited to become a member of The Gay Mens Chorus of San Francisco for 7 years and Traveled the country. He raising 100s of 1000s of dollars for charity over said years and has a long standing record as a musician, having sung, and performed for amazing artists and friend including the likes of Honey Mahogany, Demi Lovato, the late Heklina and Tony Bennett.
Now LALA is a premier karaoke host at Toad Hall, Lookout and Gingers and a proud collaborator here at the GRNHS. He also is a well known Mixologist having placed in the SF STOLI KEY WEST COCKTAIL CLASSIC 2016, and has worked at many LGBTQ+ institutions in San Francisco. The GRNHS is a shining beacon of all the work he and his colleagues have been working toward to this day. We equally strive to create a safe, community building space for all of us in San Francisco, and beyond.
